As Thanksgiving Day approaches, I wanted to share some fantastic ideas with you from Katherine Marie Photography.  Take a look at these cute little gobblers- I think they would be adorable on the Thanksgiving table!  These are made using simple craft supplies including clothes pins covered with ribbon or paper.  I always love a darling little traced turkey hand!

How cute is this Turkey Coin Bank?  It is a great way to recycle a spice container and make a useful craft!  I LOVE IT!

Games like Turkey Bingo add a little fun and learning to the holiday…just be sure that the turkey feather colors aren’t all the same on each board!

This Turkey Roll game is my favorite!  Roll the dice, add, and look at the key to see what color M&M to add to make the feathers!  Use leftover Halloween candy for the feathers, and adapt math skills to make age-appropriate…

Peanut butter play dough is always fun (for those without allergies, of course!)- dressing up the dough balls like turkeys is sure to be a hit!  Gobble Gobble!

Edible Play-dough Turkeys  Fancy tooth pics+ Feathers + Preschool Peanut Butter Balls (Mix and chill 1 cup PB +  1 cup honey + 2 cups dry powdered milk)

The Turkey Farm is also a great way to combine math and crafts for the holiday.  Notice the Turkey Trivia- what a fun way to broaden your children’s knowledge!  The cupcakes are also an easy, fun, and kid-friendly way to celebrate being thankful!

Be sure to stop by and see all of the creative, wonderful ideas and the beautiful photography at Katherine Marie Photography!  Thank you for sharing your lovely ideas with us!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

CAMILLE’S FIESTA ~ MEXICAN THEME BIRTHDAY PARTY IDEAS

Celebrating your birthday with a Mexican Fiesta is a sure way to have a great time!  My daughter and several of her friends had a ball with all of the bright colors and (hopefully) vivid memories of a beautiful party day full of fun!  Planning all of the party ideas and details was loads of fun- although we don’t claim to have everything authentically perfect- this is our take on a party that combines Mexican birthday party ideas with a young girl’s likes and wishes!  For instance, we know hedgehogs don’t hail from Mexico- but when she fell in love with a festive-looking hedgehog at a local shop, we decided the hedgehog would make a perfectly fun party favor!  So read on and enjoy- and hopefully you will find an idea or two that you can use for a Mexican-themed party or even a Cinco de Mayo celebration, too- and inspiration to incorporate ideas that make your party perfectly-suited for the birthday child!

LILLY PULITZER CAKE DECORATING FLAMINGO BIRTHDAY PARTY IDEAS

There is nothing like the bright colors and happy prints of Lilly Pulitzer to make every day feel like a party!  For my daughter’s 12th birthday party, she wanted to decorate cakes~ Lilly-style!  So, in order to decide how to mesh the two, I kept thinking “if Lilly had a cake shop instead of a juice stand”… I have to admit, this was one fun party to plan!  It is a blast to see where ideas go in the hands of a TWEEN!  Enjoy and remember, “…being happy never goes out of style!”.

Birthday Party Ideas for a Teen- How to Celebrate a TEEN

Wow! My daughter turned into a teen!  Sometimes it can be tricky to decide what to do to celebrate this milestone.  I wanted to share with you some ideas that may help if you want to mark the occasion but also keep it low-key.  At first, my daughter wanted to have a very large sleepover to celebrate.  I loved it that she wanted to include everyone she knew, but laughed at the thought of trying to corral close to 30 tweens and teens! So, I told her she could have a little, bitty, teeny sleepover and her “real” party could be bubble soccer (which she had been begging to do at this huge sleepover she was planning ).  So, realizing the play on words with a “teeny” party, we went with the TEENY theme and used as many miniature things as we could.  It was such a fun theme and the ideas could go on forever…but this is what we decided on for her teeny, little sleepover.
