I am so excited to share the very creative talent of Renee of THE CREATIVE ORCHARD…so excited that today is going to be a double feature!  Renee’s attention to detail and her creative craftiness combine to make the cutest parties.  I love this Watermelon Picnic Party!

This picnic table was set up to welcome the guests as they arrived- and the balloons set the tone right away!

Renee creates all of the printable party decorations herself!

 Love the pinwheels…

And look at the adorable fans!

The food was perfect for a picnic…

Love the cupcakes…

LOVE the Jello Pops!

Renee offers a “how to” lesson to make the watermelon napkins- she didn’t sew a stitch!

Renee thought of everything!  Look how cute the ants are carrying the food.  Renee made each of the food props that the ants are carrying.  She used styrofoam, felt, fabric, buttons, and hot glue.  The mini parade flags and mints for each guest are also such a great touch.

As a party favor, each guest was given a glass jar with fresh melon balls…

Fun and beautiful, Renee!!

Celebrating your birthday with a Mexican Fiesta is a sure way to have a great time!  My daughter and several of her friends had a ball with all of the bright colors and (hopefully) vivid memories of a beautiful party day full of fun!  Planning all of the party ideas and details was loads of fun- although we don’t claim to have everything authentically perfect- this is our take on a party that combines Mexican birthday party ideas with a young girl’s likes and wishes!  For instance, we know hedgehogs don’t hail from Mexico- but when she fell in love with a festive-looking hedgehog at a local shop, we decided the hedgehog would make a perfectly fun party favor!  So read on and enjoy- and hopefully you will find an idea or two that you can use for a Mexican-themed party or even a Cinco de Mayo celebration, too- and inspiration to incorporate ideas that make your party perfectly-suited for the birthday child!

There is nothing like the bright colors and happy prints of Lilly Pulitzer to make every day feel like a party!  For my daughter’s 12th birthday party, she wanted to decorate cakes~ Lilly-style!  So, in order to decide how to mesh the two, I kept thinking “if Lilly had a cake shop instead of a juice stand”… I have to admit, this was one fun party to plan!  It is a blast to see where ideas go in the hands of a TWEEN!  Enjoy and remember, “…being happy never goes out of style!”.

Birthday Party Ideas for a Teen- How to Celebrate a TEEN

Wow! My daughter turned into a teen!  Sometimes it can be tricky to decide what to do to celebrate this milestone.  I wanted to share with you some ideas that may help if you want to mark the occasion but also keep it low-key.  At first, my daughter wanted to have a very large sleepover to celebrate.  I loved it that she wanted to include everyone she knew, but laughed at the thought of trying to corral close to 30 tweens and teens! So, I told her she could have a little, bitty, teeny sleepover and her “real” party could be bubble soccer (which she had been begging to do at this huge sleepover she was planning ).  So, realizing the play on words with a “teeny” party, we went with the TEENY theme and used as many miniature things as we could.  It was such a fun theme and the ideas could go on forever…but this is what we decided on for her teeny, little sleepover.
