Wave these SPARKLERS on INDEPENDENCE DAY, and watch the kids’ faces light up! I made these simple little candy sparklers using PAPER STRAWS, POP ROCKS, PIXIE STIX,CUPCAKE TOPPERS, GLUE DOTS and a FUNNEL.
Pop Rock sparklers were a HUGE HIT with my kids because they pop and sizzle just like a real sparkler would! Magical every time!
TO MAKE THE SPARKLERS…
1. Use an oversized paper straw for the POP ROCKS. Use a regular-sized paper straw for the PIXIE STIX.**
2. Use a GLUE DOT to close the bottom of the large straw.
3. Use a SMALL funnel to pour POP ROCKS into large paper straw.
4. Add a cupcake topper as show in first photo (I found mine at Hobby Lobby) to the top of the straw and secure using another GLUE DOT. The glue dot will help you close the top end of the straw to secure the Pop Rocks.
**FOR THE SMALLER STRAWS AND PIXIE STIX…you can slide the Pixie Stix right into the straws and then add the topper. If your straw is too small for the Pixie Stick to go into, pour the contents of the Pixie Stick into the straw. Secure each end with a Glue Dot. Make sure you close the bottom end of straw before pouring the Pixie Stick powder. 🙂
THERE ARE SO MANY STRAWS TO CHOOSE FROM THESE DAYS- YOU ARE SURE TO FIND A SET AT CRAFT STORES, TARGET, ETC.
POP ROCKS WERE FOUND AT PARTY CITY…
THE CUPCAKE TOPPERS WERE FOUND AT HOBBY LOBBY (and this is what the sparklers will look like when you are finished…and before I played aRound with my picture on my Instagram app.).
No doubt, these CANDY SPARKLERS will add some shine to your FOURTH OF JULY FESTIVITIES!! HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!! SHINE ON~
Tie one of each together for an extra-fun treat! STARS AND STRIPES FOREVER…
