This shrimp and wild rice casserole was one of my childhood favorites that my mom used to make. If your family is a shrimp loving family, this meal is a good one. Simply add a side vegetable or a salad and you’re all set for dinner! This dish is a little rich and hearty and a nice addition to the weekly meal plan ideas!
Shrimp and Wild Rice Casserole
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sliced onion
- 1/4 cup sliced green pepper
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire
- few drops of tobasco
- 2 cups cooked wild rice
- 1 lb. shrimp cut in half, cooked, deveined, shelled
Cream Sauce
- 4 tbsp butter
- 4 tbsp flour
- 1 can chicken broth
Instructions

Sauté onion and pepper in butter until soft

Make cream sauce in a small sauce pan by melting the butter, adding flour, and the chicken broth

Combine seasonings, rice, shrimp, and cream sauce

Bake 300 degrees(F) until thoroughly heated, 30-45 minutes
