St. Patrick's Day Supper Club Inspiration

table setting for st patricks day fancy meal with green and white tablecloth green and white placemats gold and white plates and orange and pink roses

St. Patrick’s Day is synonymous with leprechauns, pots of gold, rainbows, and green beer~ and while it might be the first image that comes to mind when you think of a St. Paddy’s party~ it definitely doesn’t have to be! You can take elements of the typical party ideas and incorporate them in different ways for a completely different look. You might even find yourself saying what an elegant St. Patrick’s Day celebration you had! 🙂 Here are tips on how to take your party to the next level…

  1. Instead of thinking of all of the visual icons of the holiday, focus on just the colors. For this supper club idea, I focused on green, orange, white, and gold- and then added in unexpected pink to complement those colors.
  2. Choose a tablecloth that has green as the main color.
  3. Add placemats or chargers that have a green in them- or go with a natural texture like seagrass or rattan.
  4. Use solid white or white with gold dinner plates to anchor the table setting.
  5. Add in salad plates that have a pattern with the colors in it.
  6. Consider using gold flatware and other serving pieces with white, gold, or green to add interest to the table.
  7. Create a centerpiece that brings in the colors and use a gold or brass vessel to mimic a “pot of gold”.
  8. Incorporate a shamrock to the centerpiece for a subtle nod to the obvious and a conversation starter.
  9. Have fun with glassware and use something with color- everything from solid green or pink to rainbow colors. Everyone could even have a different colored glass.
  10. Add a whimsical or unexpected topper to the stack of plates- or as part of the place card. This is where you could incorporate something elegant or kitschy- depending on the vibe of your party and guests.

You will also see that I added in a light blue napkin- you could easily use a green napkin and it would look beautiful. I liked how the blue gave the green a little bit of a pause. But on St. Patrick’s Day, never be afraid to go all out with green!

For dinner, I recommend this menu…

Steak with Tuscan Spinach

Potatoes with Parsley

Squash Pots of Gold

Salted Caramel Pots of Gold

I hope these ideas help you as you plan for St. Patrick’s Day and beyond. The best part is that these ideas work throughout spring with just a few tweaks!

Happy March, Friends!

Cheers,
