This shrimp and wild rice casserole was one of my childhood favorites that my mom used to make. If your family is a shrimp loving family, this meal is a good one. Simply add a side vegetable or a salad and you're all set for dinner! This dish is a little rich and hearty and a nice addition to the weekly meal plan ideas!
Shrimp and Wild Rice Casserole
1/2 cup sliced onion
1/4 cup sliced green pepper
1/4 cup butter
1 tbsp Worcestershire
few drops of tobasco
2 cups cooked wild rice
1 lb. shrimp (cut in half, cooked, deveined, shelled)
Cream Sauce
4 tbsp butter
4 tbsp flour
1 can chicken broth
Sauté onion and pepper in butter until soft
Make cream sauce in a small sauce pan by melting the butter, adding flour, and the chicken broth
Combine seasonings, rice, shrimp, and cream sauce
Bake 300 degrees(F) until thoroughly heated, 30-45 minutes
