@seaisland is always the perfect place to celebrat @seaisland is always the perfect place to celebrate something special. This year, my family and I headed down to the Georgia coast to spend Easter weekend while I presented table setting ideas to the members and guests. It will be a weekend I will always remember because my parents were able to be there too! There’s nothing quite like the beauty of Sea Island- and the level of hospitality and southern graciousness! I hope you enjoy this quick stroll about~ #southernhospitality #seaisland

    Forum Description

My sweet niece, Hayden, is graduating from high school this year- and while I am so excited for her about the thrills of college and setting out on her own...I also get a little sentimental about the fact that she is going to college and setting out on her own!  She's a keeper, and it's hard to let her go.  So I decided that to keep from getting too sentimental, I would just do what we all should do and celebrate!  After all, it is a very important milestone in life- one that makes her quite happy!  So... let's celebrate!  I wanted to share this great idea board from Pizzazzerie with hopes that, whether you have a senior, a kindergartner, or a graduate somewhere in-between, you can find some inspiration for your graduation party!  I know I am going with the mortar board candy pops for Hayden's party!

    7. Scrolled Tuile Cookies RECIPE: Simple tuile cookies can be formed and shaped to look like diploma scrolls!

    Ingredients

    • 4 large egg whites, room temperature
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 1 cup all-purpose flour
    • Pinch of salt
    • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
    • 3 tablespoons heavy cream
    • 3/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
    • 8 sour candy belts

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Put egg whites and sugar into the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment; mix on medium speed until combined. Mix in flour and salt. Add butter, cream, and vanilla; mix until just combined.
    2. Spoon 4 teaspoons batter onto a baking sheet lined with a nonstick baking mat. Thinly spread into a 5-by-5 1/2-inch rectangle. Repeat. Bake until pale golden around edges, about 6 minutes.
    3. Transfer sheet to a wire rack. Immediately loosen cookies with a spatula; flip. Starting at 1 short side, quickly roll cookie to the halfway point using the handle of a small wooden spoon. Repeat on opposite side. Repeat with remaining batter. Transfer to a wire rack; let cool.
    4. Cut candy belts in half lengthwise, about 3/8 inch wide. Wrap 1 candy strip around each scroll, and knot.
