What started as an effort on behalf of some very enthusiastic 12 year-olds has spilled over into my children’s entire school and our community. I am amazed and touched by the efforts of these 6th grade students to help a fellow classmate and friend. Their beautiful, young friend, named Kajal, is suffering from a disease with no name. She needs a bone marrow transplant to save her life, and her classmates are working around the clock (literally) to help find a match.
Kajal’s family has been told that the odds of finding a bone marrow match is 1 in 20,000. And so, these students are on a MISSION to find that 1 match for their friend! They are working constantly to encourage everyone to register to see if they might BE THE ONE THAT MATCHES. The students have been on the Atlanta TV stations making their appeal and also in local newspapers…
These students are shown here singing a song for the news stations in Atlanta- they rewrote words to Lady Gaga’s “Edge of Glory” and made it their anthem with “Edge of Healing”. The students have organized a 24-hour MARROW-THON to reach as many people in the local area to register to help find a match for sweet Kajal~
The good news is that the search for a bone marrow match for Kajal is WORLD WIDE! You can live in any country on any continent and be able to be tested to see if you are the match that could save Kajal’s life. The test is a simple swab of the mouth and SWAB KITS are AVAILABLE for FREE by registering at Be the Match- National Marrow Donor Program The promo code is KAJAL. It amazes me to think of being the one person in 20,000 that could save this precious girl’s life!
See how Kajal’s classmates have helped by writing articles and sending in videos~ they are working tirelessly to help save her life by finding a donor for her. I would love to help them reach their goal of finding 20,000 people to get swabbed. Remember, you can live anywhere and “get swabbed” by using the home kit that is sent to you for free.
Please join Be a Hero for Kajal on Facebook to stay up-to-date on what these fantastic 6th graders are doing in an effort to save their friend!

At The Party Wagon, we love celebrating children and we love birthdays! We would REALLY like to help Kajal celebrate MANY MORE BIRTHDAYS! I receive so many wonderful emails and correspondence from all over the world, and I would love to see what we can do to help sweet Kajal.
Please consider the simple swab test you can order through Be the Match and PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD.
Thanks, friends! And, KUDOS to the students who have rallied behind their friend and touched so many of us with their drive and ambition to make a HUGE difference for Kajal! Way to go!
