A scoop of ice cream always makes a celebration sweeter, but this Vintage Ice Cream Shop Party by Julia, of Let’s Have a Ball Parties and Events, is like having a triple scoop with everything on top!  Julia designed this party for her youngest daughter and hand-crafted most of the decorations, favors and yummy treats herself!  A perfect choice of a party theme on a hot summer day!

Ice cream was served from silver pails and there were lots of toppings to choose!

Julia is quite amazing with all of her craftiness!  She made the doilies party lanterns and banner along with the cake topper (made to look like the birthday girl, dress and all!), and I especially love the framed collage she made just for her baby girl…

The fabric cones and the party hat were also made by Julia!

The antique ice cream parlor chairs were a great find and Julia was thrilled to incorporate them into the party room!

Julia also set up a Favor Display with many flavorful choices for the guests!

Ice cream bubbles for all…

Bowties for the boys…

Barrettes for the girls…

And a display full of ice cream games and more…

Outdoor water games and bubbles were another welcome way to beat the heat!

Sand Art Ice Cream Cones kept little hands busy and creative…

A beautiful day and a beautiful celebration~ sweet through and though!

Being surrounded by friends and family is the best part of the day!

Thank you for sharing your gorgeous daughter’s gorgeous party!  It is fabulous!!

CAMILLE’S FIESTA ~ MEXICAN THEME BIRTHDAY PARTY IDEAS

Celebrating your birthday with a Mexican Fiesta is a sure way to have a great time!  My daughter and several of her friends had a ball with all of the bright colors and (hopefully) vivid memories of a beautiful party day full of fun!  Planning all of the party ideas and details was loads of fun- although we don’t claim to have everything authentically perfect- this is our take on a party that combines Mexican birthday party ideas with a young girl’s likes and wishes!  For instance, we know hedgehogs don’t hail from Mexico- but when she fell in love with a festive-looking hedgehog at a local shop, we decided the hedgehog would make a perfectly fun party favor!  So read on and enjoy- and hopefully you will find an idea or two that you can use for a Mexican-themed party or even a Cinco de Mayo celebration, too- and inspiration to incorporate ideas that make your party perfectly-suited for the birthday child!

LILLY PULITZER CAKE DECORATING FLAMINGO BIRTHDAY PARTY IDEAS

There is nothing like the bright colors and happy prints of Lilly Pulitzer to make every day feel like a party!  For my daughter’s 12th birthday party, she wanted to decorate cakes~ Lilly-style!  So, in order to decide how to mesh the two, I kept thinking “if Lilly had a cake shop instead of a juice stand”… I have to admit, this was one fun party to plan!  It is a blast to see where ideas go in the hands of a TWEEN!  Enjoy and remember, “…being happy never goes out of style!”.

Birthday Party Ideas for a Teen- How to Celebrate a TEEN

Wow! My daughter turned into a teen!  Sometimes it can be tricky to decide what to do to celebrate this milestone.  I wanted to share with you some ideas that may help if you want to mark the occasion but also keep it low-key.  At first, my daughter wanted to have a very large sleepover to celebrate.  I loved it that she wanted to include everyone she knew, but laughed at the thought of trying to corral close to 30 tweens and teens! So, I told her she could have a little, bitty, teeny sleepover and her “real” party could be bubble soccer (which she had been begging to do at this huge sleepover she was planning ).  So, realizing the play on words with a “teeny” party, we went with the TEENY theme and used as many miniature things as we could.  It was such a fun theme and the ideas could go on forever…but this is what we decided on for her teeny, little sleepover.
