Last year, my son wanted to invite a few friends from his new class over to have a Halloween party. With a few really easy ideas, we had a small lunch “party” and the boys enjoyed the fun! The dipped marshmallows with sprinkles were their favorite~
My mom sent my children Halloween care packages in the mail and so we used the fun things that she sent and decorated for the party. We had lots and lots of foam stickers- and so they became sandwich toppers and the children put them on their shirts and wore them. Talk about easy!
The mummy drinks (I originally saw these at One Charming Party) were a big hit- my children made the eyes and helped wrap them the day before. These are always a fun addition to Halloween!
Each child had a mask to wear and decorated a treat bag. After lunch, they played “Where’s the Witch?” which is a game that they loved and played over and over. One child hides the stuffed/plush witch and then the others have to go and find it. The person that finds it becomes the next person to hide it and play continues… they also got to choose a little Halloween prize from the cauldron.
Such an easy way to get into the Halloween spirit!

LILLY PULITZER CAKE DECORATING FLAMINGO BIRTHDAY PARTY IDEAS
There is nothing like the bright colors and happy prints of Lilly Pulitzer to make every day feel like a party! For my daughter’s 12th birthday party, she wanted to decorate cakes~ Lilly-style! So, in order to decide how to mesh the two, I kept thinking “if Lilly had a cake shop instead of a juice stand”… I have to admit, this was one fun party to plan! It is a blast to see where ideas go in the hands of a TWEEN! Enjoy and remember, “…being happy never goes out of style!”.
LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE PARTY
What began as a simple gesture to introduce my daughter to a wonderful book series has become a special evening ritual for us- reading Laura Ingalls Wilder’s Little House books! I must admit, I didn’t realize quite how interesting these books would be to her, but she cannot wait to read all nine in the series. It was only fitting that her birthday party focus around Little House on the Prairie! Together, we had a ball planning all of the details of her party that related to the books in some way. At Camille’s request, we focused on some of her favorite parts of the stories… prairie flowers, covered wagons, tee pees, the colors in the drawings of the books, and “pretty”…because “Ma” liked things to be pretty!
CAMILLE’S CLUBHOUSE ~ Confectionery, Soda Shoppe, Spa
My daughter had lots of ideas of what she wanted to do to celebrate her 10th birthday! She wanted to have lots of cookies~ and have a soda shoppe ~ and set up a spa for nail painting! With so many ideas, I knew we should come up with something that would tie it all together. And, that is how Camille’s Clubhouse became the theme- the Clubhouse is where you can find lots of her favorite things! We sent invitations with a an insert that had a “password” that had to be unscrambled and brought to the party for “entry”. That was an easy way to get the guests involved before the party even started!
