A Ballerina Birthday Party gets a new twist with a piggy theme that will make you squeal with delight!  Maria, of Love and Sugar Kisses, brought her daughter’s birthday party request to life with the sweet touches of ballet and the silliness of a piggy!  I think she combined the two with posh piggy flair!

Maria made the cake and the piggy fondant topper (she is a baker), and she topped it with a fabulous glittery banner~

I love how Maria used touches of yellow and a gingham pattern to coordinate with the soft pink tulle and add a playful touch!  It is a perfect combination of the beauty of a ballerina and the playful nature of piggies and children!

The dessert table was set with ruffled cookies made by Maria along with Piggy Noses, Piggy Kisses, and Pink Piggy Popcorn…

The invitation set the tone with a twirling piggy~ Maria added tulle and ribbon for an extra-special delivery…

The guests were asked to wear a pink leotard, and they were given an adorable tutu when they arrived!  Tutus make for instant twirls!

Party hats were made by Maria and each child had a piggy bank at their place setting…the piggy banks were later decorated by the girls as one of the party activities.

Precious little paper ballet shoes (a surprise gift from Piggy Bank Parties) were also used as decoration.

Maria added ruffles and tulle to the guests’ cups, too.  I love little details like that!

After dancing, twirling, and decorating their piggy banks…the girls had a chance to have their piggie hooves polished!

The Birthday Girl having a little Piggy Paint applied…

And each guest was given a sweet favor box with a plush piggy inside- what a cute way to remember a delightful day!

Such a precious party!  Thank you for sharing, Maria!

CAMILLE’S FIESTA ~ MEXICAN THEME BIRTHDAY PARTY IDEAS

Celebrating your birthday with a Mexican Fiesta is a sure way to have a great time!  My daughter and several of her friends had a ball with all of the bright colors and (hopefully) vivid memories of a beautiful party day full of fun!  Planning all of the party ideas and details was loads of fun- although we don’t claim to have everything authentically perfect- this is our take on a party that combines Mexican birthday party ideas with a young girl’s likes and wishes!  For instance, we know hedgehogs don’t hail from Mexico- but when she fell in love with a festive-looking hedgehog at a local shop, we decided the hedgehog would make a perfectly fun party favor!  So read on and enjoy- and hopefully you will find an idea or two that you can use for a Mexican-themed party or even a Cinco de Mayo celebration, too- and inspiration to incorporate ideas that make your party perfectly-suited for the birthday child!

LILLY PULITZER CAKE DECORATING FLAMINGO BIRTHDAY PARTY IDEAS

There is nothing like the bright colors and happy prints of Lilly Pulitzer to make every day feel like a party!  For my daughter’s 12th birthday party, she wanted to decorate cakes~ Lilly-style!  So, in order to decide how to mesh the two, I kept thinking “if Lilly had a cake shop instead of a juice stand”… I have to admit, this was one fun party to plan!  It is a blast to see where ideas go in the hands of a TWEEN!  Enjoy and remember, “…being happy never goes out of style!”.

Birthday Party Ideas for a Teen- How to Celebrate a TEEN

Wow! My daughter turned into a teen!  Sometimes it can be tricky to decide what to do to celebrate this milestone.  I wanted to share with you some ideas that may help if you want to mark the occasion but also keep it low-key.  At first, my daughter wanted to have a very large sleepover to celebrate.  I loved it that she wanted to include everyone she knew, but laughed at the thought of trying to corral close to 30 tweens and teens! So, I told her she could have a little, bitty, teeny sleepover and her “real” party could be bubble soccer (which she had been begging to do at this huge sleepover she was planning ).  So, realizing the play on words with a “teeny” party, we went with the TEENY theme and used as many miniature things as we could.  It was such a fun theme and the ideas could go on forever…but this is what we decided on for her teeny, little sleepover.

CAMILLE’S CLUBHOUSE ~ Confectionery, Soda Shoppe, Spa

My daughter had lots of ideas of what she wanted to do to celebrate her 10th birthday!  She wanted to have lots of cookies~ and have a soda shoppe ~ and set up a spa for nail painting!  With so many ideas, I knew we should come up with something that would tie it all together.  And, that is how Camille’s Clubhouse became the theme- the Clubhouse is where you can find lots of her favorite things!  We sent invitations with a an insert that had a “password” that had to be unscrambled and brought to the party for “entry”.  That was an easy way to get the guests involved before the party even started!
