I love how Amanda used favor boxes from the Dollar Store and wrapped them with paper for a great way to serve popcorn- how cute for a class party!  The heart adds an extra touch of cuteness!

The drink bottles couldn’t be cuter with heart cut-outs from Shindig secured with tulle- and simple twine holding the straws in place!  Notice how Amanda placed them on doilies to add another small detail of design~

One of my favorite ideas from this Valentine party is how guests are served lunch in these adorable felt baskets found at Target.  Heart-shaped sandwiches wrapped with doilies and side items served in simple white bags with twine and a paper heart…

Amanda also dressed up the silverware by wrapping in a napkin secured with a paper heart- I love how she threaded a ribbon through the heart!

Decorated cookies are beautiful and made to match the printables from Shindig- you can add any type of cookies to your party for a super sweet and yummy treat!

A display of candies looks great on a tiered stand~

And, a bowl full of Hershey Kisses never looked sweeter~ these make great gifts!

Mini mailboxes are found in many stores around Valentine’s Day, and I love Amanda’s creative way of using them to display cupcakes~ notice the adorable cupcake toppers and wrappers!

Another easy way to make your party festive is with candy bar wrappers- in regular and miniature size!  These also make great favors and teacher gifts!

There are so many great ideas!  Shindig has all of the party printables available in her shop for only $9.00!  Find them here in Amanda’s shop~

CAMILLE’S FIESTA ~ MEXICAN THEME BIRTHDAY PARTY IDEAS

Celebrating your birthday with a Mexican Fiesta is a sure way to have a great time!  My daughter and several of her friends had a ball with all of the bright colors and (hopefully) vivid memories of a beautiful party day full of fun!  Planning all of the party ideas and details was loads of fun- although we don’t claim to have everything authentically perfect- this is our take on a party that combines Mexican birthday party ideas with a young girl’s likes and wishes!  For instance, we know hedgehogs don’t hail from Mexico- but when she fell in love with a festive-looking hedgehog at a local shop, we decided the hedgehog would make a perfectly fun party favor!  So read on and enjoy- and hopefully you will find an idea or two that you can use for a Mexican-themed party or even a Cinco de Mayo celebration, too- and inspiration to incorporate ideas that make your party perfectly-suited for the birthday child!

LILLY PULITZER CAKE DECORATING FLAMINGO BIRTHDAY PARTY IDEAS

There is nothing like the bright colors and happy prints of Lilly Pulitzer to make every day feel like a party!  For my daughter’s 12th birthday party, she wanted to decorate cakes~ Lilly-style!  So, in order to decide how to mesh the two, I kept thinking “if Lilly had a cake shop instead of a juice stand”… I have to admit, this was one fun party to plan!  It is a blast to see where ideas go in the hands of a TWEEN!  Enjoy and remember, “…being happy never goes out of style!”.

Birthday Party Ideas for a Teen- How to Celebrate a TEEN

Wow! My daughter turned into a teen!  Sometimes it can be tricky to decide what to do to celebrate this milestone.  I wanted to share with you some ideas that may help if you want to mark the occasion but also keep it low-key.  At first, my daughter wanted to have a very large sleepover to celebrate.  I loved it that she wanted to include everyone she knew, but laughed at the thought of trying to corral close to 30 tweens and teens! So, I told her she could have a little, bitty, teeny sleepover and her “real” party could be bubble soccer (which she had been begging to do at this huge sleepover she was planning ).  So, realizing the play on words with a “teeny” party, we went with the TEENY theme and used as many miniature things as we could.  It was such a fun theme and the ideas could go on forever…but this is what we decided on for her teeny, little sleepover.

CAMILLE’S CLUBHOUSE ~ Confectionery, Soda Shoppe, Spa

My daughter had lots of ideas of what she wanted to do to celebrate her 10th birthday!  She wanted to have lots of cookies~ and have a soda shoppe ~ and set up a spa for nail painting!  With so many ideas, I knew we should come up with something that would tie it all together.  And, that is how Camille’s Clubhouse became the theme- the Clubhouse is where you can find lots of her favorite things!  We sent invitations with a an insert that had a “password” that had to be unscrambled and brought to the party for “entry”.  That was an easy way to get the guests involved before the party even started!
