Learning about the Antarctica and penguins has never been so fun! Melissa, of My Party Passion, shares her adorable “Penguin Party” that she held for her children after finishing their unit of study of Antarctica and penguins. Melissa home schools her children, and I love how she has a culminating activity to tie it all together and to celebrate their success and fabulous new knowledge!
There was already a true winter wonderland right outside of their window- which made a perfect and realistic backdrop for all of the arctic fun!
Penguins slid everywhere~ even on the icy cold milk bottles!
Penguins (made out of TP rolls) were made by the children during their unit of study and Melissa used them to decorate…also notice the marshmallow and the “marshmallow shooter”. Melissa says, “…cut the bottom from the paper cup, tie off a balloon and cut the NOT knotted end off, stretch that over the bottom of the cup and you have a catapult for your mini marshmallows!”
Along with the marshmallow shooters, the kids enjoyed an indoor “snowball fight”, penguin bowling, penguin jeopardy, and~ of course~ Mr. Popper’s Penguins! The children watched the movie and enjoyed popcorn and treats!
What a great way to sum up all that the kids have learned! With so many great ideas for a Penguin Party, it makes me want to throw a Penguin Movie Party (my daughter is currently reading Mr. Popper’s Penguins in class)! Thank you for sharing so many fun and cute ideas, Melissa! I love seeing how families celebrate!
