I love that Kokeshi dolls are Japanese Friendship Dolls- what a perfect theme for a birthday party with your girl friends!  Gayle, of I Will Invitations, hosted this lovely party for her daughter and themed the party around the darling Kokeshi dolls…

Paper fans, cherry blossoms, and butterflies complimented the kokeshi dolls…

Gayle fed the guests a full asian-inspired meal and treated everyone to sweet treats displayed and packaged in such a dainty way!

The tiny bamboo steamers were just the right size for fortune cookies~

Beautiful butterfly cookies…

I love the water bottle wrappers~ the ingredients are so cute!

The children played many games and also painted wooden kokeshi dolls!

Party favors included a treat bag full of themed goodies with a topper designed by Gayle!

And, chocolate bars wrapped in these adorable candy bar wrappers also made by I Will Invitations…

What a beautiful and unique birthday party!  I love the special touches that Gayle added throughout the party to make the guests feel as though they were playing among the cherry trees of Japan!

Just lovely, Gayle!  Thank you for sharing!

CAMILLE’S FIESTA ~ MEXICAN THEME BIRTHDAY PARTY IDEAS

Celebrating your birthday with a Mexican Fiesta is a sure way to have a great time!  My daughter and several of her friends had a ball with all of the bright colors and (hopefully) vivid memories of a beautiful party day full of fun!  Planning all of the party ideas and details was loads of fun- although we don’t claim to have everything authentically perfect- this is our take on a party that combines Mexican birthday party ideas with a young girl’s likes and wishes!  For instance, we know hedgehogs don’t hail from Mexico- but when she fell in love with a festive-looking hedgehog at a local shop, we decided the hedgehog would make a perfectly fun party favor!  So read on and enjoy- and hopefully you will find an idea or two that you can use for a Mexican-themed party or even a Cinco de Mayo celebration, too- and inspiration to incorporate ideas that make your party perfectly-suited for the birthday child!

LILLY PULITZER CAKE DECORATING FLAMINGO BIRTHDAY PARTY IDEAS

There is nothing like the bright colors and happy prints of Lilly Pulitzer to make every day feel like a party!  For my daughter’s 12th birthday party, she wanted to decorate cakes~ Lilly-style!  So, in order to decide how to mesh the two, I kept thinking “if Lilly had a cake shop instead of a juice stand”… I have to admit, this was one fun party to plan!  It is a blast to see where ideas go in the hands of a TWEEN!  Enjoy and remember, “…being happy never goes out of style!”.

Birthday Party Ideas for a Teen- How to Celebrate a TEEN

Wow! My daughter turned into a teen!  Sometimes it can be tricky to decide what to do to celebrate this milestone.  I wanted to share with you some ideas that may help if you want to mark the occasion but also keep it low-key.  At first, my daughter wanted to have a very large sleepover to celebrate.  I loved it that she wanted to include everyone she knew, but laughed at the thought of trying to corral close to 30 tweens and teens! So, I told her she could have a little, bitty, teeny sleepover and her “real” party could be bubble soccer (which she had been begging to do at this huge sleepover she was planning ).  So, realizing the play on words with a “teeny” party, we went with the TEENY theme and used as many miniature things as we could.  It was such a fun theme and the ideas could go on forever…but this is what we decided on for her teeny, little sleepover.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TREATS- GINGERBREAD PARTY

Each year, Amy (of Amy’s Party Ideas) hosts a bring-your-own-house Gingerbread House Decorating Party.  This year, Amy is sharing it with all of us!  Amy gathered her favorite ideas from around the web and added them all to the party.  This annual tradition is made all the sweeter with so many cute treats made by Amy!  My favorites are the cakepops- designed as an exact replica to those made by my friend Kerri at Sweet Indulgence.  These little guys are fantastic- Kerri know her cake pops and Amy did a great job re-creating them for her party!  Well done, ladies!!
