Myka Meier is known for her dazzling way of teaching modern etiquette, and we were lucky enough to have Myka share a special interview with us recently at The Supper Club. After spending time with Myka virtually, I was left looking forward to the next time that I could chat with her! Myka is engaging and charming while she effectively combines modern manners using old world teachings. I wanted to share more about Myka~  not only because I just plain like her…but also because I truly believe that etiquette is a from of respect, and we all benefit from a respectful society!

Myka hosts a host of ways to learn her skills and knowledge. I enjoy following Myka on Instagram for her fun and informative videos with an “instead of that/ try this” format. She has landed on a brilliant way to share tips with humor, style, and grace.  Myka also teaches classes at The Plaza Hotel in New York City through her company, Beaumont Etiquette.  She partnered with The Plaza to bring her teachings to all ages~ from children to preteens and teenagers to adults. Although her classes fill quickly, you can plan ahead and enroll your children or yourself in a class while enjoying a visit at The Plaza. A touch-up is always a great idea and builds confidence in each of us.

Even if you are not able to be present for an in-person class, Myka can still be found teaching through her on line classes and via her YouTube channel. What I enjoy about Myka’s teaching style is that she is approachable and charming. Myka is breathing new life into age-old teachings and passing them down with a modern twist.

Luckily for us, Myka has also written books on the topic! Her first book, Modern Etiquette Made Easy, is a great introduction to Myka’s skills. Having trained intensively in the United Kingdom and in Switzerland, Myka brings an immense range of knowledge on European, British, and American etiquette. Let’s just say, she knows her stuff- and she helps everyone else know, too!

Myka has expanded her reach to businesses, too! What a great addition to have your company team know the social graces and proper etiquette in all situations. Currently, Myka is teaching corporate trainings via Zoom, which makes learning from her even easier! Myka’s latest book is Business Etiquette Made Easy ~ I think that would be a great gift for anyone in business but especially thoughtful for college graduates!

I am excited about the etiquette options that Myka and Beaumont Etiquette bring to our modern world. There’s so much to learn, and it is accessible to us all as we navigate occasional uncertain situations. Keeping respectful behavior as part of our everyday lives is a courtesy we can all extend. Learning from Myka happens to also make it fun! Let me know if you have an etiquette question by leaving it in the comment section below! Just maybe we can pass them along to Myka sometime and continue learning from her! Thank you to Myka for encouraging us all to remember our manners in a most modern way!

Cheers,

LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE PARTY

What began as a simple gesture to introduce my daughter to a wonderful book series has become a special evening ritual for us- reading Laura Ingalls Wilder’s Little House books!  I must admit, I didn’t realize quite how interesting these books would be to her, but she cannot wait to read all nine in the series.  It was only fitting that her birthday party focus around Little House on the Prairie!  Together, we had a ball planning all of the details of her party that related to the books in some way.  At Camille’s request, we focused on some of her favorite parts of the stories… prairie flowers, covered wagons, tee pees, the colors in the drawings of the books,  and “pretty”…because “Ma” liked things to be pretty!
