Celebrating a first birthday during the holidays is EXTRA- SPECIAL!  Michelle, of Cakewalk, designed this party for her nephew’s first birthday, but the ideas are wonderful for any holiday celebration!  The yarn trees, sleighing snowman cupcakes, adorable Santa hat truffles, and the yummy hot cocoa bar, make this precious little birthday boy’s party a fabulous Christmas ONEderland!  And, I love the combo of red, green, and gray!

Aren’t those cupcakes adorable?  I love the personalities!  Michelle crafted yarn wreaths and trees to decorate the party- they add just the right feel to the party!

The invitation and paper used throughout the party was also designed by Michelle~

A stack of presents made a perfect cake!

Santa Hat Truffles were perfectly adorable served under a glass dome~

For drinks, Michelle served milk (complete with a milk mustache, of course!)…

I love the felt tied around the bottles~ especially the gray bow tie!

And, there was a Hot Cocoa Bar for the guests to enjoy customizing their own drink~

Aren’t the wrappers around the cups and the whipped topping such a great idea?

There was also customized water…

What a wonderful way to celebrate turning ONE!  Thank you for sharing this sweet celebration with us, Michelle!

A gorgeous party for a gorgeous baby boy!

And, everyone went home with delicious cake pops!

There is nothing like the bright colors and happy prints of Lilly Pulitzer to make every day feel like a party!  For my daughter’s 12th birthday party, she wanted to decorate cakes~ Lilly-style!  So, in order to decide how to mesh the two, I kept thinking “if Lilly had a cake shop instead of a juice stand”… I have to admit, this was one fun party to plan!  It is a blast to see where ideas go in the hands of a TWEEN!  Enjoy and remember, “…being happy never goes out of style!”.

Celebrating your birthday with a Mexican Fiesta is a sure way to have a great time!  My daughter and several of her friends had a ball with all of the bright colors and (hopefully) vivid memories of a beautiful party day full of fun!  Planning all of the party ideas and details was loads of fun- although we don’t claim to have everything authentically perfect- this is our take on a party that combines Mexican birthday party ideas with a young girl’s likes and wishes!  For instance, we know hedgehogs don’t hail from Mexico- but when she fell in love with a festive-looking hedgehog at a local shop, we decided the hedgehog would make a perfectly fun party favor!  So read on and enjoy- and hopefully you will find an idea or two that you can use for a Mexican-themed party or even a Cinco de Mayo celebration, too- and inspiration to incorporate ideas that make your party perfectly-suited for the birthday child!

Birthday Party Ideas for a Teen- How to Celebrate a TEEN

Wow! My daughter turned into a teen!  Sometimes it can be tricky to decide what to do to celebrate this milestone.  I wanted to share with you some ideas that may help if you want to mark the occasion but also keep it low-key.  At first, my daughter wanted to have a very large sleepover to celebrate.  I loved it that she wanted to include everyone she knew, but laughed at the thought of trying to corral close to 30 tweens and teens! So, I told her she could have a little, bitty, teeny sleepover and her “real” party could be bubble soccer (which she had been begging to do at this huge sleepover she was planning ).  So, realizing the play on words with a “teeny” party, we went with the TEENY theme and used as many miniature things as we could.  It was such a fun theme and the ideas could go on forever…but this is what we decided on for her teeny, little sleepover.
