There is something special about dressing up and dishing out desserts for the kiddos for Valentine’s Day!  Shaundra, of Cherished Affairs, shares a beautiful dessert table with us that she styled for a Valentine photography party.  Desserts were served while each guest had their fashion photo shoot with fabulous photographer Danielle McCann.  Perfect to adapt for teens and tweens and also for a grown-up girls-night-out or daytime luncheon, this party is fashionable and fun!

Simple chocolate mousse (or pudding) is taken to a new level when served in a fancy glass and topped with strawberries and shaved coconut.

Shaundra also found a miniature dresser that she painted and used as a display…

Gorgeous cookies, macarons and pastries displayed on a tiered stand add a fancy touch to the dessert table, too!

Shaunda had matching cake pops in red and gold…

A creative cake combines fashion and dessert in one!

Shaundra also served lunch for the guests…chicken salad, a variety of muffins, fruit and cheese.  She kept it simple and presented it beautifully!  I especially love the fruit and cheese displays.

What lovely party styling ideas!  Presentation is such a fun part of designing a party, and Shaundra shares great ideas for making your next party even more beautiful!

There is nothing like the bright colors and happy prints of Lilly Pulitzer to make every day feel like a party!  For my daughter’s 12th birthday party, she wanted to decorate cakes~ Lilly-style!  So, in order to decide how to mesh the two, I kept thinking “if Lilly had a cake shop instead of a juice stand”… I have to admit, this was one fun party to plan!  It is a blast to see where ideas go in the hands of a TWEEN!  Enjoy and remember, “…being happy never goes out of style!”.

Celebrating your birthday with a Mexican Fiesta is a sure way to have a great time!  My daughter and several of her friends had a ball with all of the bright colors and (hopefully) vivid memories of a beautiful party day full of fun!  Planning all of the party ideas and details was loads of fun- although we don’t claim to have everything authentically perfect- this is our take on a party that combines Mexican birthday party ideas with a young girl’s likes and wishes!  For instance, we know hedgehogs don’t hail from Mexico- but when she fell in love with a festive-looking hedgehog at a local shop, we decided the hedgehog would make a perfectly fun party favor!  So read on and enjoy- and hopefully you will find an idea or two that you can use for a Mexican-themed party or even a Cinco de Mayo celebration, too- and inspiration to incorporate ideas that make your party perfectly-suited for the birthday child!

CAMILLE’S CLUBHOUSE ~ Confectionery, Soda Shoppe, Spa

My daughter had lots of ideas of what she wanted to do to celebrate her 10th birthday!  She wanted to have lots of cookies~ and have a soda shoppe ~ and set up a spa for nail painting!  With so many ideas, I knew we should come up with something that would tie it all together.  And, that is how Camille’s Clubhouse became the theme- the Clubhouse is where you can find lots of her favorite things!  We sent invitations with a an insert that had a “password” that had to be unscrambled and brought to the party for “entry”.  That was an easy way to get the guests involved before the party even started!
