These little pots of gold landed at my door recently, and I have had fun trying cocktail recipes with a Gris Gris Cocktail Magic twist. I especially like how nicely it adds a magical kick to a Margarita. With all of this talk of magic and the golden color of the simple syrups, I think this would make a perfect gift for St. Patrick’s Day. What a great hostess gift idea~ you could add the recipe to go with the Gris Gris. And, if you really want to make the gift keep giving~ add in the margarita ingredients and put it together in basket. It would be great for a birthday gift, too! I love unique gift ideas that are useful and fun for everyone to enjoy!
What exactly is Gris Gris Cocktail Magic? It is simple syrup made in small batches and ready to go! It saves the step of making your own simple syrup for cocktail recipes~ and has the added bonus of basil, habanero or jalepeno. I like them both, but I really love the basil flavor. It is what I used when I made the cocktail below.
Gris Gris Cocktail Magic Margarita
Ingredients
- 2 oz. tequila
- 1/2 oz. Gris Gris Cocktail Magic Basil Habanero
- 1/2 oz. Orange liquor
- 1 oz. fresh lime juice
Instructions
- In a cocktail shaker, add ice and all four ingredients and shake well.
- Pre-rim glass with salt if desired and pour contents with ice into glass.
- Garnish with a slice of fresh jalapeño, basil leaves, and/or lime zest.
I poured the margarita into a tall glass filled with ice. This also works well in a rocks glass~ I just wanted to use my glasses from Wren Home. They sent me these glasses with such a cool shape- and an M etched onto the glass. They will be our new go-to glasses! There are lots of sizes and shapes along with unique monogram fonts. I am so happy to be able to use and enjoy their products.
I made a quick video for Instagram that shows step-by-step how to make the Gris Gris Margarita. You can follow me there for ideas and tricks along the way, too! I hope to see you there and here as there is always something to share and talk about in both places. Let me know what you think of this as a hostess gift idea~ and feel free to share any of your favorite gift ideas in the comments below!
Cheers!,
