Little Elianna loves to watch “princess and froggie”, and so her mom, Anne Marie, designed her first birthday party around Elianna’s favorite, The Frog Princess!  Anne Marie, of El’uccellino Designs, best describes the party and all of the elements behind each detail…read on to hear more from Anne Marie~

Who could refuse the rich purples and earthy greens of the bayou?!
Elements that we wanted to incorporate that centered around the theme of the movie were the frogs, lily pads, stars, and fireflies.
The cake is a perfect combo of all of those!
I loved the quotes in the movie so I incorporated them into the desserts. Prince Naveen called Tiana a "stick in the mud" so
I wanted to do my interpretation of it. I made dirt pies for the mud by using chocolate pudding and topping it with a mixture
of crushed Oreos and cream cheese. I added a pretzel for the stick and topped it with an edible lily pad.
There you have "a stick in the mud."
Elianna's grandmother is notorious for her cannollis so we had cannollis stuffed with green and purple cannoli filling for
"Elianna's House Special as an homage to her Nonna. Frog on a log dessert were made using an edible frog on a Swiss roll
and was inspired by a book titled, "Frog on a Log."
"It's the Bee's Knees" was a popular phrase in the movie and I knew Dania's cake could perfectly execute the cookies
so I couldn't resist naming the sugar cookies as the Bee's Knees. The marshmallow pops were coconut marshmallows
with sprinkles and edible fireflies.

Evangeline was such a huge staple in the movie so I wanted a nutritious dessert and something that resembled the twinkling star.
I was ecstatic to find the glitter grapes recipe. Not only did they sparkle, but they were such a hit with the children and parents
alike. I used a spice rack and embellished with ribbon and utilized adhesive moss for the base to give it a swamp feel. To make
the grapes, simply roll washed green grapes in green Jello powder.

I love how Anne Marie added a special princess chair for the birthday girl!

Anne Marie had games, Tarot card reading, and of, course…the little froggies jumped!  A bounce house was the perfect activity for the guests…

The guests were also invited to dress up!

Favor bags had dresses and messages on each brown kraft bag~

As a prize for one of the games, Elianna’s family donated to the March of Dimes in the winner’s name.  MOD is one of their favorite charities because Ellianna was born three months premature…

What a lovely, meaningful, and sweet day for Elianna!  Thank you for sharing your party, Anne Marie!  The birthday girl’s face shines with how happy she is!  I love that!

Celebrating your birthday with a Mexican Fiesta is a sure way to have a great time!  My daughter and several of her friends had a ball with all of the bright colors and (hopefully) vivid memories of a beautiful party day full of fun!  Planning all of the party ideas and details was loads of fun- although we don’t claim to have everything authentically perfect- this is our take on a party that combines Mexican birthday party ideas with a young girl’s likes and wishes!  For instance, we know hedgehogs don’t hail from Mexico- but when she fell in love with a festive-looking hedgehog at a local shop, we decided the hedgehog would make a perfectly fun party favor!  So read on and enjoy- and hopefully you will find an idea or two that you can use for a Mexican-themed party or even a Cinco de Mayo celebration, too- and inspiration to incorporate ideas that make your party perfectly-suited for the birthday child!

What began as a simple gesture to introduce my daughter to a wonderful book series has become a special evening ritual for us- reading Laura Ingalls Wilder’s Little House books!  I must admit, I didn’t realize quite how interesting these books would be to her, but she cannot wait to read all nine in the series.  It was only fitting that her birthday party focus around Little House on the Prairie!  Together, we had a ball planning all of the details of her party that related to the books in some way.  At Camille’s request, we focused on some of her favorite parts of the stories… prairie flowers, covered wagons, tee pees, the colors in the drawings of the books,  and “pretty”…because “Ma” liked things to be pretty!

There is nothing like the bright colors and happy prints of Lilly Pulitzer to make every day feel like a party!  For my daughter’s 12th birthday party, she wanted to decorate cakes~ Lilly-style!  So, in order to decide how to mesh the two, I kept thinking “if Lilly had a cake shop instead of a juice stand”… I have to admit, this was one fun party to plan!  It is a blast to see where ideas go in the hands of a TWEEN!  Enjoy and remember, “…being happy never goes out of style!”.

CAMILLE’S CLUBHOUSE ~ Confectionery, Soda Shoppe, Spa

My daughter had lots of ideas of what she wanted to do to celebrate her 10th birthday!  She wanted to have lots of cookies~ and have a soda shoppe ~ and set up a spa for nail painting!  With so many ideas, I knew we should come up with something that would tie it all together.  And, that is how Camille’s Clubhouse became the theme- the Clubhouse is where you can find lots of her favorite things!  We sent invitations with a an insert that had a “password” that had to be unscrambled and brought to the party for “entry”.  That was an easy way to get the guests involved before the party even started!
