Mae Armstrong of Mae Armstrong Designs created an airplane party that is out of this world!  She and her boys love going to the Ryleigh Observation Park to watch the planes fly by, talk to the terminal guard and have a picnic lunch by the Crosswinds Cafe.  It was only fitting that they turn their adventures into an airplane party for the two little boys!  She created this invitation similar to an actual boarding pass!

Love how this Boarding Now signs welcomes the guests to the party!

I love the Radio Flyer Wagon prop!  And this #3 pinata?  HANDMADE!

How fun is this? The kids made their own airplanes!

This table set up is awesome-  The white wreath with the airplanes on them is fabulous!

Don’t forget to stop by Baggage Claim to get your “luggage” favors!

Both the cookies and cupcakes had edible images on them.

Birthday boys with their planes.

Such a sweet picture of the brothers in pilot caps!

The airplane party printables can be purchased at Mae Armstrong Design’s Etsy shop.  Your child’s last name will be on them!

Celebrating your birthday with a Mexican Fiesta is a sure way to have a great time!  My daughter and several of her friends had a ball with all of the bright colors and (hopefully) vivid memories of a beautiful party day full of fun!  Planning all of the party ideas and details was loads of fun- although we don’t claim to have everything authentically perfect- this is our take on a party that combines Mexican birthday party ideas with a young girl’s likes and wishes!  For instance, we know hedgehogs don’t hail from Mexico- but when she fell in love with a festive-looking hedgehog at a local shop, we decided the hedgehog would make a perfectly fun party favor!  So read on and enjoy- and hopefully you will find an idea or two that you can use for a Mexican-themed party or even a Cinco de Mayo celebration, too- and inspiration to incorporate ideas that make your party perfectly-suited for the birthday child!

There is nothing like the bright colors and happy prints of Lilly Pulitzer to make every day feel like a party!  For my daughter’s 12th birthday party, she wanted to decorate cakes~ Lilly-style!  So, in order to decide how to mesh the two, I kept thinking “if Lilly had a cake shop instead of a juice stand”… I have to admit, this was one fun party to plan!  It is a blast to see where ideas go in the hands of a TWEEN!  Enjoy and remember, “…being happy never goes out of style!”.

Birthday Party Ideas for a Teen- How to Celebrate a TEEN

Wow! My daughter turned into a teen!  Sometimes it can be tricky to decide what to do to celebrate this milestone.  I wanted to share with you some ideas that may help if you want to mark the occasion but also keep it low-key.  At first, my daughter wanted to have a very large sleepover to celebrate.  I loved it that she wanted to include everyone she knew, but laughed at the thought of trying to corral close to 30 tweens and teens! So, I told her she could have a little, bitty, teeny sleepover and her “real” party could be bubble soccer (which she had been begging to do at this huge sleepover she was planning ).  So, realizing the play on words with a “teeny” party, we went with the TEENY theme and used as many miniature things as we could.  It was such a fun theme and the ideas could go on forever…but this is what we decided on for her teeny, little sleepover.
